Ingredients:
- 225g soft margarine
- 100g walnut pieces
- 110g plain chocolate
- 170g plain flour
- 400g caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2.5ml salt
- 10ml vanilla essence
- 2.5ml baking powder
- 100g chocolate chips
Method:
- Preheat your oven to gas mark 3 or 160°C/325°F.
- In a saucepan over a gentle heat, melt the margaine and chocolate together.
- When they are melted, remove from the head and add the sugar, thoroughly mix them together.
- Add the vanilla, eggs an the chocolate chips.
- In a bowl, add the salt, flour and baking powder. Sift them three times, this will make the mixture extra fluffy.
- Fold the flour into the chocolate mixture.
- Lightly grease a square or rectangular cake pan.
- Pour the mixture into the cake pan.
- Put in the oven and bake for around 50-55 minutes.
- Take out of the oven and allow to cool in the pan for around 12 hours.
- Cut into small square slices.
